the Quad

We decided after Talen's first dune trip that he was going to be a real dunner-he loved it so much. We got him his first baby quad-battery powered-and were hoping he would learn how to use it with our help.
Talen as usual surprised us all and learned how to push the power button in about 10 seconds and was off across the living room. So funny.

Pappa and his good frind Jerry spent some time deciding just what decals to put on- it came with monkeys and baby stuff and that just wouldn't work for our little guy. He needed real tough guy motor racing stickers.

Christmas 2009

Two of my favorite guys lookin good at the Vandenberg Christmas Party.

Talen wasn't too happy with Santa but loved the rhino light parade and got to go for a ride so he was a happy boy.

December Days

Like all kids Talen is having fun with the Christmas decorations, no he's not helping decorate, he helps undecorate when ever he thinks I am not looking. He loves Santa on the motorcycle because it plays "Born to be Wild" and it is fun to dance to. He carries it around and plays the song over and over, hopefully the batteries will wear out soon.

We hope to do some cookie baking soon, that should be fun. We might have to get another set of hands to help keep the little ones busy.

The days are cool so we don't get outside until after lunch. This is a new schedule for us and I don't think Talen understands it. When it is hot we head out early in the morning and stay in after lunch-unless we hit the pool that is. He still thinks he should get to go into the pool and has gotten his feet wet a couple of times-burrr.

Lunch time is always a hoot. Sometimes Talen sends everything to the dogs and sometimes he is very stingy with his food. He thought his spaghetti was particularly funny. It was very messy and he had me laughing too. He likes to suck the noodles in.
Always time to play with the dogs, they are after all his little buddies. Poor Jedi just can't get a break. Talen loves to crawl all over him, he thinks he is a recliner. Jedi moans but doesn't even pick his head up, he is such a good dog.

We hope you are all having as much fun this holiday season as we are. Love to all-Talen and Jamma and Pappa

Beach Baby

Once again we headed south of the border for our Thanksgiving. Talen loves it and is such a social baby he already knows the regulars in the RV park where the kids keep their trailer.

Our toy hauler has really become the "TOY" hauler, we may rename it the playpen.

This was the first trip for Tess and Talen loved walking her around. She is small enough for him to handle.

Several of Jerylin and Jonathan's friends showed up for the long weekend. More people for Talen to entertain, he is such a cutie pie. Of course the guys had football on the mind and were able to watch a few of the big games, non of our teams won-so sad.

As always the beach was the best, water was a bit cold for me but if you live on the coast you would consider it warm. The dolphins made a big show, always love seeing them. Talen loved walking on the beach and when the tide was out he was quite an adventurous little guy on the reefs.

Lucky for us Tess stayed out of the water, not a fan of the wet dog smell.

Weather cooled down and the surf came up our last day there. Love the sound of the waves crashing. Can't wait to head back down again.

Hope your Thanksgiving was as relaxing and enjoyable as ours! Love to all!

Talen's First Dune Trip

It's official, Talen is a motorhead. Loves wheels and loud engines. Here he is at the sand drags watching the quads, bikes and rails race by.

A boy has to sleep sometime at the dunes. Love his little sand Uggs.
Our group at test hill watching the quads race up the hill.

Talen and Tadem played in the sand with their trucks and quads.

Of course Talen got everyone to take turns giving him a ride on the quad.

The quads go all day and night.

Tess likes to ride too.

Even while eating Talen gets to sit by the window and watch the action outside. Look there goes Pappa.

ZOO FUN

GOT TO GO TO THE WILD LIFE WORLD ZOO WITH THE KIDS AND SEVERAL FRIENDS-MOST WERE TEACHERS AND OFF ON VETERANS DAY.
THEY LET YOU GO INSIDE AND FEED THE PARROTS FRESH APPLES.

THE PETTING ZOO HAD SEVERAL NEW BABY'S, DEER AND GOATS, SO TINY AND CUTE.

TALEN HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME RUNNING WILD, WHO ARE THE REAL ANIMALS AT THE ZOO.

Childrens Museum

Talen got to go to the Children's Museum with his Momma,Jamma,Grandma, and Granny Faye on his birthday. He had everyone in the room laughing as he enjoyed standing on the air grate and getting blown with all the air. He is quite an adventurous little guy and fun to watch as he checks everything out.

Talen loved the noodle forest, he crawled through at first but was soon walking through like the big kids.
After the museum we all went to lunch.

We went to the outlet mall to check out the fall deals and boy did Talen hit the jack-pot. He had fun running around and he and Grandma checked out the fountain. Grandma had to head back to Michigan today but it was nice of her to come and celebrate with the birthday boy.

One Year Old

Hard to believe it has been a year. Our Little man will be one year old tomorrow. We had fun celebrating with him and his friends. There will be 2 more birthdays real soon- Torin-his cousin who will be 1 on Dec. 1st, and Kyler who will be 1 on Oct. 30th.

Yes, his birthday crown is in spanish-the Birthday Prince. He will be headed to Mexico this coming weekend to celebrate in style on the beach. This should be a fun trip now that he is walking.

His Michigan Grandparent's were both here-Grandpa John surprised everyone by knocking on the door just a few minutes before the birthday boy arrived. Even Grandma Nancy was surprised.

Momma made ice cream cone cup cakes decorated with what else-frog faces. Thanks Aunt Debbie for helping to decorate, they were so cute.

The day was a record setting 102 degrees but everyone made the best of it. Talen played in his little pool and as you can see the cute outfit that he came dressed in was soon removed so he could be cooler.

Always willing to smile for the camera, what a beautiful family. We are so blessed to have them all in our lives and living so close.

Toys, toys everywhere. The louder the noise the more popular they were with the little guys. Cousin Makayla was such a big help delivering the gifts to be opened. Talens big buddy Bryce-he is 2-had fun with all the stuff-the little Harley that Uncle JR gave him was a favorite. More pictures will follow when it is not quite so crazy.

Grandma Nancy comes to play

What could be better than having two Grandma's to play with. Jamma and Talen picked up Grandma at the airport on Thursday. We stopped for lunch so I could work my magical charms on everyone and then headed to Jamma's to play until Momma and Daddy got off work.

Safe Baby

It is cooling off and great to be outside again without having to be in the pool. Pappa installed gates to the gazebo so that Talen has a safe place to play while Jamma plays in the garden. Biggest playpen I've ever seen. Talen likes to help in the garden too but he is so very fast on those little legs of his. It's nice to have a safe place to put him.

Trying to get the yard all pretty for his big first birthday party. We are having everyone here on the 17th of Oct which is just around the corner.

Organizing the kitchen

Jerry and took a few days and headed to Durango Colorado over Labor Day weekend with friends. Put the Harley's in the Toy Hauler and headed north. Our RV camp was right on a river and we rode everyday from breakfast to 10pm. What beautiful country. Many firsts for me on this ride-rain-dark mountain roads. The guys were great and got me home safe every night. Next year we are going for a week.

We got home late Monday-446 miles makes for a long day-always glad to see home. Talen arrived Tuesday morning and it was so good to see him, can't believe how much I missed his little smile. It was bowling night so he got to spend the night.

I have put locks on the kitchen cabinets but not the drawers. Talen made this discovery today and decided to re-organize things a bit. I have decided to give him the bottom drawer and will put surprises inside for him, probably just adding to the mess but oh well.

This is the look you get when you say "no,no". He just giggles.

After the drawers were empty Talen decided to fill them up again, he sat in this drawer off and on all day long. Poor Tess, I think she was hoping there was some kind of food in the drawers that he would share with her.
